Sealing the Roof to the Wall

Buildings with low pitched roofs are usually built with a gap between the roof membrane and the wall. This occurs because the roof deck flutes are not accessible from the top side after the roofing material has been applied.

In this video, you can see smoke being drawn into the flute. The way we seal this gap is by filling each flute, inside and out, with two-component spray foam. This connects the roof membrane to the wall insulation, eliminating uncomfortable drafts and energy loss.
