About Us
Ashton Thermal, LLC is a Vermont company that
believes in protecting our environment; both indoors and out.
We believe in educating our customer about the best ways to
solve building problems, but we won't force ourselves upon anyone.
We believe human comfort and safety does not need to be sacrificed
to responsibly conserve energy: in fact, energy efficient buildings
are more comfortable, so our services tend to sell themselves.
Ashton Thermal is proud to be a partner with Energy Star;
the voluntary EPA labeling program designed to identify and
promote energy-efficient products to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
We share the vision of Energy Star by helping businesses and
individuals protect the environment through superior energy
efficiency. "Because a strategic approach to energy management
can produce twice the savings - for the bottom line and the
environment - as typical approaches, EPA's ENERGY STAR partnership
offers a proven energy management strategy that helps in measuring
current energy performance, setting goals, tracking savings,
and rewarding improvements."*
John Ashton, founder and owner, has seen all kinds of problems
in buildings and knows that they are almost always preventable
and solvable. He has been trained and certified by the Building
Performance Institute, the preeminent certifying body for building
sciences. He also holds a Level 1 certification in Infrared
Thermography as well as certifications for Thermographic Roof
Inspection and Applied Building Science. He is also a factory
trained Zerodraft installer. These certifications and experience
allow Ashton Thermal to be the first (and so far, the only)
certified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor in all
of northwestern Vermont.
Codes and standards for buildings are continually
being updated. Because of this, we are constantly increasing
the size of our library; buying the latest books, papers and
videos to keep us current with our trade. We source most of
our educational material from ASTM, NFPA and the International
Code Council.
Financial
incentives are available for most of the work we perform. If
you need to get a loan to cover energy improvements on your
home, Efficiency
Vermont can buy down your lender's interest rate by 3.5%.**
Also, EPACT
tax credits are available for energy improvements made before
the end of 2007.
For your convenience, we accept several forms of payment for
our services, including: check, money order, cash or a major
credit/ debit card.

**Please check Efficiency Vermont's website to learn more about
participating lenders. Buy down can only be applied to qualifying
(energy saving) measures. |
